{"id":18657,"date":"2020-08-11T13:31:06","date_gmt":"2020-08-11T13:31:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abbigliamentocertificato.com\/la_marcatura_ce\/"},"modified":"2023-11-10T14:10:57","modified_gmt":"2023-11-10T12:10:57","slug":"ce_marking","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/abbigliamentocertificato.com\/en\/ce_marking\/","title":{"rendered":"CE Marking"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\">CE marking in workwear<\/h1>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must bear the <strong>CE marking<\/strong>, affixed to the product by its manufacturer or by those who place it on the European market. <strong>The CE marking<\/strong> serves as European certification, guaranteeing that the PPE complies with all the essential requirements outlined in REGULATION (EC) No. 765\/2008 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL, dated 9 July 2008.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Each category has specific <strong>specifications<\/strong> to adhere to, as outlined in REGULATION (EU) No. 425, dated 9 March 2016, OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL regarding personal protective equipment, and it repeals Council Directive 89\/686\/EEC. Let&#8217;s examine them in detail:<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For PPE falling under <a href=\"https:\/\/abbigliamentocertificato.com\/categoria_i\">CATEGORY I<\/a>, a <strong>DECLARATION OF CONFORMITY (self-certification)<\/strong> by the supplier suffices to confirm that the PPE models placed on the market comply with the directive&#8217;s provisions. The manufacturer must affix the CE marking to each piece of PPE and create a European Union declaration of conformity, which must be available to national authorities for ten years from the date of market introduction.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p>For <a href=\"https:\/\/abbigliamentocertificato.com\/categoria_ii\">CATEGORY II<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/abbigliamentocertificato.com\/categoria_iii\">CATEGORY III<\/a> a <strong>two-stage<\/strong> assessment <strong>procedure<\/strong> is necessary:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The PPE first undergoes <strong>CE certification<\/strong> by a <strong>European Notified Body<\/strong>, which verifies the completeness of all produced <strong>documentation<\/strong>, the technical design, and a representative PPE sample that mirrors subsequent production. It also checks whether the essential health and safety requirements are met through the requisite <strong>tests<\/strong>, issuing a certification certificate upon successful completion.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Subsequently, the manufacturer attaches a CE marking to each piece of PPE and prepares a written <strong>EU declaration of conformity<\/strong> for a specific PPE model, making it available to national authorities for ten years from the date the PPE enters the market.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Furthermore, <a href=\"https:\/\/abbigliamentocertificato.com\/categoria_iii\">CATEGORY III<\/a> PPE undergoes <strong>periodic inspections<\/strong> conducted by an audit team, comprising at least one member familiar with the applicable essential <strong>health<\/strong> and <strong>safety<\/strong> requirements and with expertise in assessing the PPE sector. <\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The audit team conducts regular <strong>inspections<\/strong>, at a minimum of once a year, and not necessarily with prior notice. More specifically, this team reviews <strong>the technical documentation<\/strong> related to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and may choose to conduct or have <strong>examinations and tests<\/strong> performed on the PPE to confirm the quality system&#8217;s proper functionality. Subsequently, the notified body must send the manufacturer an inspection report, and if tests have been performed, a test report as well. The notified body is then required to send the manufacturer a report on <strong>the inspection<\/strong> and, if tests have been conducted, also a <strong>test report<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Certifications are renewed automatically when the Notified Body approves the PPE&#8217;s quality system.
